TIPS & TRICKS: Using the Date Filter in Views

Make your Views dynamic with the use of the Date Filters.

By using relative date filters (such as "last week"), dynamic Views can be created that display different item as time goes by. For example, "Graph updated before last week" will show a list of graphs that have not been updated this week.

We've provided examples below of how to use this power feature to create dynamic views in Graphs, Objectives, Knowledge, Events and Alerts.

Find items by Day

  1. Choose the desired date filter

  2. Type day

  3. It will list the default options that contain the keyword or refer to a day

  4. You can also type any number of days. It will display all relevant options.


Find items by Week

  1. Choose the desired date filter

  2. Type week

  3. It will list the default options that contain the keyword or refer to a week

  4. You can also type "14 weeks" or any number of weeks. It will display all relevant options.

  5. You can use the "beginning" keyword.

  6. It will display "Beginning of this week".

  7. Also, you can type "beginning of 5" or any other number.

  8. It will display "Beginning of 5 weeks ago" or any number specified

  9. You can also use the "end" keyword

  10. It will display "End of this week"

  11. Also, you can type "end of 5" or any other number

  12. It will display "End of 5 weeks ago" or any number specified


Find items by Month

  1. Choose the desired date filter

  2. Type month

  3. It will list the default options that contain the keyword or refer to a month

  4. You can also type "7 months" or any number of months. It will display all relevant options.

  5. You can use the "beginning" keyword.

  6. It will display "Beginning of this month".

  7. Also, you can type "beginning of 5" or any other number.

  8. It will display "Beginning of 5 months ago" or any number specified

  9. You can also use the "end" keyword

  10. It will display "End of this month"

  11. Also, you can type "end of 5" or any other number

  12. It will display "End of 5 months ago" or any number specified


Find items by Quarter

  1. Choose the desired date filter

  2. Type quarter

  3. It will list the default options that contain the keyword or refer to a quarter

  4. You can also type "5 quarters" or any number of quarters. It will display all relevant options.

  5. You can use the "beginning" keyword.

  6. It will display "Beginning of this quarter".

  7. Also, you can type "beginning of 5" or any other number.

  8. It will display "Beginning of 5 quarters ago" or any number specified

  9. You can also use the "end" keyword

  10. It will display "End of this quarter"

  11. Also, you can type "end of 5" or any other number

  12. It will display "End of 5 quarters ago" or any number specified


Find items by Year

  1. Choose the desired date filter

  2. Type year

  3. It will list the default options that contain the keyword or refer to a year

  4. You can also type "6 years" or any number of years. It will display all relevant options.

  5. You can use the "beginning" keyword.

  6. It will display "Beginning of this year".

  7. Also, you can type "beginning of 5" or any other number.

  8. It will display "Beginning of 5 years ago" or any number specified

  9. You can also use the "end" keyword

  10. It will display "End of this year"

  11. Also, you can type "end of 5" or any other number

  12. It will display "End of 5 years ago" or any number specified


Find items by Date

  1. Choose the desired date filter

  2. Click Calendar

  3. Choose the desired date

  4. You can also type "13 mar" or any other date in that format. It will display all relevant options.

  5. Another way of entering a date is in a yyyy-month-day format. It will display all relevant options.
